Hi,
I Explorer tuned up at a local Midas. All fluids changed out. Transmission, oil, radiator, the whole bit.
Ever since, my oil pressure has been high. Sometimes its at the upper end of the "normal" reading. Other times its almost pegged out.
Shortly after I noticed this (about an hour after leaving the place) I took it back and had them check it out. They said the oil sensor guage was bad and replaced it. Well, that worked for a day or so but now its reading high again.
I live near DC. It has been hot. Will the heat affect something like oil pressure? If not, what's going on?
Thanks.

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation.

Ambient temp (hot) will have a very small effect on the oil pressure but not causing a high reading, I would start with getting the pressure tested with a master gauge, this will give a true indication as to the engine oil pressure and the readings will be able to tell you if the actual pressure is high which could indicate a faulty pressure relief valve, or a problem in the electrical circuit causing a false high reading, start here.
