my heater get hot sometime and then go cold and I have to put antfreeze in it and tempture gage show it hot

Hi tommie harris,
Thank you for the donation.
When coolant is insufficient in the cooling system, the heater would work erratically and the temperature would be hot.
You would need to check what is causing the loss of coolant and rectify it first.
Remember to bleed the system
