My sons 1994 Ford Explorer has needed about 4 1/2 quarts of transmission fluid over the past month. The strange thing is, is that it isn't leaking a drop. Where is the fluid going?

The tranmission will slip when it's about a quart low but if I top it off to full it seems to be fine for about a week.

I don't smell any burning and the fluid color is nice and red and smells clean.

do you notice white exhaust? how bout low power steering fluid levels? any leaks of oil anywhere? oil in coolant or coolant in the tranny oil? check at the output shafts of the tranny, is there fluid around there?
