94 explorer crankshaft position sensor-does it mount internally or externally to the timing cover do you need any special tools and is there any way you can show me a diaghram thank you billy

The sensor is external, but it is behind the harmonic balancer. Most of the time, once unbolted, you can wiggle it out and wiggle a new one in.
