I just bought a 94 explorer xlt and usually when I am stopped at a stop sign and slightly press on the gas again when im about to go, six times out of ten it just dies, without any warning or anything. The engine just turns off and I have to put it back into park and start it again then it goes. What could be wrong with it and how much would the fix cost?

Is the check engine light on? If so have codes pulled and post here. I had a 94 exploder and it was the MAF (Mass Air Flow) going bad after a few weeks it finally went never gave code till went bad.
