1993 Ford Explorer touque converter

Transmission problem
1993 Ford Explorer 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

put new front seal in trans. now converter will not go on trans far enough to bolt to motor. converter sounds like it bottomed out against shaft. lacks 1/4 in. of going on all the way

Keep rotating convertor back and forth while applyiong light pressure. Need to line up slots in convertor with pump.
