1993 Ford Explorer leak....

the transmission will go months without leaking and then all of a sudden all of the fluid will pour out at one time.... not like a leak but a pour....i need to know what could be wrong with it... i just added some lucas fixer and it stopped leaking for now but i'm not sure how long it will last...

Do you know where the leak is? are you doing any towing when this happens? is the oil level at the correct level before any leak event?
