Replaced an engine in my 92 Explorer XLT. Replacement engine is certified 59,000 miles. Both are non EGR. Only cylinders 2,4,6 fire. 1,3, and 5 do not. Same sections of coil spark both firing and non-firing cylinders. There is spark, there is fuel. There is compression of 150 in firing and 130 in non-firing (probably washing down). Engine may have been from a different year. Same electronics, only injectors are different from orig running vehicle. tried swapping plug wires from firing to non firing. No difference. Plug wires are properly routed. New Platinum plugs are installed. Connectors have been checked. Could the engine computer have been damaged? It was running the old engine. Could there be an incompatibility between the crankshaft sensor in the replacement engine and the engine computer? Help.

I would suggest switching all semsors from the old engine to the new one.
