When I back out of my drvieway and the engine hasnt had a lot of time to warmup, it act like its still in neutral when I shift from reverse to forward gears. It goes fine once it gets going. Also once coming forward up a steep little incline it like 'popped' out of drive and I had to shift into low. That was right after starting it as well. I had the transmission flushed and the fluid changed like 2 months ago.

Two things. First I question if the seals in the trans have gotten hard and brittle and require the warmth to soften them up so fluid doesn't bypass them.

Second, have you placed any additives in the trans? You may want to try something that is designed for seals.

Finally, has the check engine ever come on when this happens?
