The Explorer goes forward in neutral but locks up in reverse. It's a 1991 Ford Explorer and 1st, 2nd drive and overdrive seem to work fine.

When you shift to reverse, is there a load on the engine like it is trying to go but can't, or does it seem to be in neutral?
