2007 Ford Expedition V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

When decelerating and braking at almost a stop the car will buck and jerk forward. Any advice on how to correct this.

Does it feel like an engine, brake, or a transmission issue?

The only thing I can think is the trans isn't disengaging properly (almost like a manual transmission if the clutch isn't used). Have any warning lights come on?

No warning lights. It does not happen often but when it does I notice it. What should i emphasize to the dealer ship when i take it there since I am expecting the problem not to present itself while they are checking it.

It sounds like a solenoid or the torque converter.

Is it possible for me to replace either of those parts without having to go to the dealership? If so how....

Actually, you need to have the trans pressure checked for the converter. They would have to do it. If the converter itself is bad, the trans needs to be removed.

I think it is about a 50 dollar part, plus you need to remove the trans pan, fluid... That is up to you. I have attached a picture of where it is located on the valve body. I found a good picture on the net that should be helpful. It is the round item at the top of the pink section.
