2006 Ford Expedition Expedition stopped while going down th

2006 Ford Expedition 6 cyl Automatic 67000 miles

My 2006 Expedition just stopped while I was driving. We tried to jump it off, no success. We unhooked the battery cables, rehooked them, still no success. Needless to say, we had it towed to the shop. They are saying they believe its the spark box? If I remember right. They are saying just the part would be about 300 dollars. Does it sound like it's the spark box? Any other possibilities?

SPARK BOX? I'm not sure what they are refering to. What size engine does it have the 4.6 or 5.4?

Sorry, I'm a woman and don't know a whole lot about it. I just talked with my husband and the mechanic now says he thinks it's the wiring that fires up the engine? Or something like that. Does that sound right? Yesterday they thought it might have been the anti-theft system but they tried to fix it with my spare but that didn't work.
