My 2003 Ford Expedition 4WD has recently begun to leak what appears to be engine oil. The leak looks as if it is coming from anove the passenger side axle boot and then hitting the frame before getting to the ground.

Is the oil sending unit on the passenger side of the block? The vehicle has never leaked any oil until the last few days and it really seems to large a leak for a gasket. The oil pan plug is dry, the filter is dry, and it just doesn't seem to be coming from either of those areas.
Thanks in advance
