I have a 2003 Ford Expedition that the service engine soon light came on about a week ago.

I had just replaced 2 cylinder coils and figured it was another one that went bad. The car jerks and jumps upon accelerating and misses substantially.

For the last 2 days now it has died while I was driving it down the road. When it dies the High Temp, Low Oil light comes on and the battery light comes on. The vehicle starts right back up but continues to do the same thing.

Any ideas as to what it could be?

Has the check engine light come back on? Have you checked fuel pump pressure?

My truck does the same thing. I have the same year 2003 and model. I'm going to have this look at today to determine the problem. I will revert back with a answer tomorrow.

THat would be great and helpful. Have you done any preliminary checks on your own?

My brother-in-law replaced all remaining cylinder coils and is now running fine (knock on wood!). He said 2 were bad, but I had him replace them all because I was told they tend to all go bad one after another.

I'm glad you got it taken care of. And, if you can afford to replace them all, that is the way to go.

Let us know if you have questions in the future, and thanks for using 2carpros. Com.
