I told by a mechanic that I have a vacume leak at the intake manifold gasket. I am an a/c mechanic and have all the tools to take compressors apart. How tough would it be to replace the gaskets, but more importantly how do I check to confirm it is the intake manifold that is leaking.

Hi well to confirm the leak you can run eng spray fine mist of carb clean at the base of the intake. When you get to the leak the idle will raise. Now as how hard it is to change. Everyone has a diff opinion it is time consumeing and you must pay very close attention to what and how you remove things. Don, t pry on anything. If it is loose it is designed to pick up and remove. Anyone with mechanical ability and eye for detail would be fine. Hope this helps if you have more questions please feel free to write one or one hundred times. Billymac
