You just replied to me regarding this issue - thank you. I disconnected the positive battery cable for 20 minutes and reconnected it. The Service Engine Soon light went off. I did this because I was told I had to reset the computer because the light won't go out even if I fixed it. Is this true? Did I do wrong by disconnecting the battery? Will the light just come on again if I didn't fix this issue?

Thanks

Hello,

Yes you were wrong to do so, but not because of the possibility of the engine light coming back on. It is because you can cause a Voltage Spike and Fry your Computer. When you make a repair and need engine light turned off, just go by your local parts store and ask them to do it for you.
