2001 Ford Expedition No transponder key

I have lost my transponder key for my Ford Expedition, 2001, Eddie Bauer. I had a plain key (unlocks doors and fits in ignition, but does not start the
truck) made and that's all I have. I don't know if the vehicle has a remote starter function. Will a transponder bypass kit get it started, assuming the only problem is that I don't have a key? If so, can you recommend a specific kit? not, is there anything that will start it, short of me towing it to the dealership, or paying a locksmith $200.00?

Need the key for it to learn the code
so with out the key the kit will not work
