2001 Ford Expedition

i have a 2001 ford expedition automatic transmission..almost 2 weeks i didn't used my suv..my problem is that when i used my suv I've notice that i can't shift the gear of my suv its very hard..the engine is running but i cant shift the gear into drive..do you think that the transmission of my suv has a problem?
