2000 Ford Expedition running rough and burning oil

whay would make the car run rough like it is jumpy like on a dirt road but not and what would cause the car to burn oil?

Many things can cause the engine to run rough. First, has the check engine light come on? Have you checked for vacuum leaks, has the fuel pressure been tested? Finally, as far as the oil, do you see blue smoke coming from the exhaust? Are there any leaks that you see? And, is this the 5.4L V8 or the 4.6L V8?
