Today while driving, I starting going around 40 mph, my truck started roar up but not going in faster and my rpm hand started going way up. Can you tell me what the problem is?

Make sure the trans fluid is full. It sounds like it was slipping. Did it only do it once or all of the time? Does it seem to do this in any one specific gear?

Let me know.

Based on your description, it sounds like the clutches are sliping in the transmission. If that is the case, it will need a general rebuild. At this point, I would recommend having a transmission tech drive it to confirm my beliefs.

Let me know what you find.
