my 99 expedition engine is cranking over when i turn the switch on, I don't have to turn to the start position, also the radio quit at the same time, I was driving and the starter kicked on, burnt up the starter so I replaced it, the relay on the firewall, and subsequently the ignition switch on the steering column. I am wondering about the GEM? or perhaps another idea

If you replaced the ignition switch, are you sure it was properly adjusted? As far as the GEM, I doubt it is the cause. However, check it for evidence of water leaking from the windshield on to it.

Let me know what you find.

i did check the switch when i replaced it, the only commonality i can find between the engine turning over and the electrical anomalies occurring is the GEM, ( no radio, 4x4 engaged once then disengaged, windows not working til 30 seconds after engine starts, clicking under the dash,) now the problem is the cost, :(
