1998 Ford Expedition Stuck in Park

I've checked fuses 6 and 13, which appear ok. Should I now tackle the brake sensor (?) or wiring, behind brake pedal? There are no brake lights. Not sure what the sensor really looks like and can it be bought at any auto store, such as Auto Zone? Thanks

check the brake light switch on top the paddle
check for battery power at the switch connector
yes try your local part store they should have the switch
