1998 Ford Expedition leakig from underneath

1998 Ford Expedition V8 Automatic

my expedition is leaking from underneath in the middle up front but behind front wheels, it looks and smells like water, there is no sign of antifreeze all gages seem to be reading fine and the truck seems to be running fine, what could it be?
