A mechanic told me that as long as I use a diesel fuel additive that improves the Cetane rating by 6 points or more I should be able to use the higher-sulfer content Off-road RED diesel in my 2003 Excursion with the 7.3 liter Turbo-diesel engine. Is this true? I purchased an extended warranty. Would this void the warranty?

I’ve been told that my Excursion does not have a catalytic converter (the 2002 model did).

I have heard of people doing that, but i do not suggest it, it will void the warenty.

it is died red for a reason so you dont use it. I belive there are some laws against using off-road diesel for onroad?

Contact the dealership and ask if its dealer recommened or if it will void the warenty.
