Does the vehicle have A/C?

To expand on Indyuke's question, if the car has A/C and it is on, no matter what the engine fan will run as well. Make sure the a/c is off and see what happens. If that doesn't fix it sometimes there is yet another temp sensor that can activate the fan.

Suggested Repair

Confirm the A/C is switched off, since an A/C request can command the radiator fan to run. If the fan still runs with the A/C off, check the additional coolant temperature sensor that can also activate the fan.

Conversation Summary

The owner of a 1992 Ford Escort GT reports that the radiator fan runs whenever the engine is started, even after replacing the fan sensor on the thermostat housing. Experts ask whether the car has A/C and advise turning the A/C off, noting that the fan is commanded on when A/C is requested. If that does not stop the fan, another temperature sensor may be activating it.
