'96 Ford Escort, 80,000 miles. When the engine is cold, the car runs fine. As soon as it heats up, it loses power. We are at a loss as to what is wrong. Thank you for your help.

You may need a new motor or it could be that you should flush the motor out with engine flush to see if that helps. If it doesn't work your only option is to take it to a mechanic.
