I am desperate... My car died while i was driving with my step-daughter about 2 weeks ago. It hasn't started since. When it died, it sounded like the typical "I've run out of gas" sound, but i had a half a tank. So we replaced the fuel filter, nothing. Then the fuel pump, nothing. Then the fuel pump relay, and the fuel pump began o work, but the car STILL won't start. It tries, but it won't turn over. It is my only means of transportation and i don't have the money to be dealing with all of this right now.... What could be wrong?!

You need to check 1st and then replace !!


OK let determine if we have spark


pull the wire and check for spark
(watch the video on how to )

check timing belt

check for fuel pressure
and let me know what is missing

My boyfriend is the one replacing it all, but he did check before replacement. He worked on it some more last night and told me that the fuel pump was finally working, i had good fuel pressure and the relay we replaced worked, but there was no spark. He replaced the coil, but it didn't do anything so he took the part back. He said he's going to check the timing belt today, but it's tricky with my make and model.

Is that all there is left to check?

lets make sure the timing belt is ok 1st
just take the inspection cover off and check

It seams like you need a tune up. But first you really should check your belts.
