For some time, the engine in my Escort seems to be vibrating heavily. It's to the point that I can feel it in my steering wheel. I also just had a new exhaust system installed and that seems to be shaking as well (I can hear it vibrate against the underside of the rear bumper. Could one have something to do with the other and if so, what is recommended?

Check under hood for any vacuum leaks
does it have check engine light on
if so scan for codes
check it for tune up
