Engine Mechanical problem
2001 Ford Escort 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic
----------------------------------------------------------------
the basics...
The Timing belt pully(idle pulley) sheared off the car stalled....
My neighbor and I(neighbor more than me I'll hand him the tools) have the bolt out.... but and here is my major issue at hand ...... the pully is not holding after using "Fix-A-Thread" and "ThreadLocker".
we have reset the timing and set the cams and done all that to the best of our knowlage..... the turns over, starts, and runs...... but the belt is loose due to the pulley being loose....
so after all that explanation... my question....
What is the best way to reattach/rethread the pulley????
keeping in mind I am doin this in my Garage myself with my neighbors help....(
it has been suggested to use "JB WELD"..... is this a good idea????
maybe also try to find a longer bolt for the Pulley in hopes that maybe the "BLOCK" is threaded deeper and we maybe able to use what is left of the threaded Block..... Is this a feesible option????
Thank You for your time on my Issue
