can not get the fuel filter off and it is behind the engine i have tried to pull on it and it will not come lose is there an easy way to get it off

First, disconnect the battery ground cable.
Second, loosen the filter bracket clamp bolt.
Third, on the top and on the bottom part of the filter, there is a white plastic clip (U shape) inserted in the fuel line. Pry it out with a screwdriver. Careful not to break it, old clip breaks easily. Ford manual suggest replacing it with new ones. The clip is the lock for the fuel line. Now you can pull out the fuel lines.
