I currently run a Ford Escort (200K+) and love it. I was just offered another one really cheap, but it has an automatic transmission. How big a job is it to switch out the auto for a manual one? What is involved? Thanks.

it is not a huge job for someone who has a little mechanical experience .. it is time consuming obviously .. but as long as the donor gearbox is of roughly the same year ... then it's a case of just swapping over the box .. but then you have to route the new gear lever linkage .. which can be rather tricky .. if more info needed please feel free to cantact me ..
