Transmission problem
1999 Ford Escort 4 cyl Automatic 180000 miles
2.0 front wheel drive

When my ford escort is in drive and I turn on air or heat blowers it will stall. I disconnected the battery as the manual said, to reset idling problem. Ran great. Air condition runs on all positions, as this happens the temp will go up a little bit and water will drip on my feet while driving. While this is all happening with-in a few days my transmission starts slipping. It only slipped going up a hill. Using any of the blower switches affects the transmission for some reason. Now it don't want to shift at all. I can put it in L gear, shit, and shift and it was fine, now it doesn't want to go anywhere. The temp gage is up, but not over heating. Can you please help me as to what can be done? I missed work today and this is my only transportation, with little money. I don't think it is the transmission because it doesn't do it all the time, please help thank you, sincerely Babette

This is interesting because the two systems don't work together. Has the check engine light or any warning light come on?
