My car will be going down the road and it jerks back and the RPMs jump to over 4000 and I let off the gas pedal and it goes back down and dies frequently. I noticed also, that the speedometer will start jumping around.

Is my problem with the transmission itself or is there a sensor or something that is faulty? I was told to have the speed sensor checked. Could that be the problem? I'm hoping to get it to an auto shop to have it diagnosed if I can just get it there. I'm not sure if this is the original transmission that came in the car. I'm the second owner of it, and I replaced the engine 3 months ago.

Please help....I'm hoping not to have to spend a bunch more money on this car if at all possible.

Hi: Since You had the engine replaced in the last 3mos
It should not be unfair to expect some warranty support. In addition I may expect a CHECK ENGINE indicator ?
