1999 Ford Escort
I realize now that I made a bush-league error during DIY installation of new front rotors/pads in this vehicle in that I did not wipe down the new discs with brake cleaning fluid or similar to remove the packing oil from the rotors prior to installation. I do not recall that they were dripping with oil, but still they had a coating that I did not think to remove. At the same time, I do not seem to be experiencing any ill-effects. Braking seems to be fine after about 800 miles. Am I in for trouble here? Any suggestions as to what to do at this point? Thanks in advance for any feedback.
