1999 Ford Escort Engine Size unknown Two Wheel Drive Manual 66701 miles

WHEN I START MY CAR IT IS JUDDERY DRIVING SLOW UNTILL IT WARMS UP BUT THEN IT SOMETIMES JUDDERS WHILST GOING SLOW ALSO WHEN IT FIRST STARTS UP THE REVS GO UP AND DOWN FOR A FEW MINUTES UNTILL IT WARMS UP. I RAN A COURSE OF STP THROUGH IT TO CLEAN UP THE ENGINE BUT IT DIDNT MAKE MUCH OF AN IMPACT I AM STUMPED PLEASE HELP THANKS FOR YOUR TIME

Could check for codes, may be something in the history on that. The coolant temp sensor may be giving false readings and setting incorrect fuel/air ratios adjustments.
