Sometimes the check engine light comes on for a few day and then goes off when I try to go in and find the problem the computor reads nothing and no stored codes. Somebody said the problem could have somthing to do with the defroster yes or no? Any ideas? Car shake at a stop light a little. Also some times not alot will not start at first try but will on second attemp?

Codes should be stored in the PCM up to a 100 ignition cycle after light off
and most scanners should be able to pull them up
I find it very strange that they didnt find any codes
next time engine light is on stop at any local service or part store and ask them to check for codes
check and make sure gas cap is on tight (few clicks )
open hood and check for vacuum leaks (pick and move hoses while looking for a leak )
