1999 Ford Escort 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

friend has just bought an escort,it seems to drive ok,
but the clutch pedal is very heavy,it works ok,but takes some pressure to depress it

so the first thign to do is make sure the hydraulic fluid is full and not contaminated.

how heavy does it feel.

and are you sure its not a high stage clutch?

higher stage is a clutch that has higher pressure springs to provide less slip and better acceleration and more control with a load.
