when I run my car for any length of time, I have oil leaking from my engine, and it runs very rough and is not safe to take out of town anymore, what could be wrong?

Can you tell where the oil is leaking from? These engines are notorious for leaking valve cover gaskets. Also, as far as engine performance, when was the last tune up?
