1998 Ford Escort headlights

Could you please tell me why the headlights are off? And appear shorted. When turnibg on headlights, radio leds go dim, and headlights do not come on.

I would check the bulbs as a 1st step
check fuses and relays

OHH! I totally just went through this problem! At first it was just one headlight, then they both decided not to work, so under the hood of your car like in the engine there's a fuse box. And in that fuse box there are 3 sets of fuses for your headlights, a really big one, and two little ones. The big fuse was burnt out in my car, so I replaced it and the bulbs, and my lights worked again. Hope this helps you some
