Engine Mechanical problem
1998 Ford Escort

I have been advised that my cambelt is broken.

What sort of cost should I expect for a replacement and what other damage might have been caused to the car?
Thanks.

HI there,

If you have broken a timing belt you will have done valve damage in the head, and before any estimate cam be made the head will have to be removed to inspect the extent of the actual damage.
