Engine Performance problem
1998 Ford Escort 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 124k miles

having a problem with a 98 ford escort se everytime that im driving and i come to a complete stop with my foot on the brake it will start to shake or rumble like the engine is still trying to go but the car is stopped.
what should i do?

Check it for tune up and vacuum leaks
check clean idle air control valve
check scan for codes
