Brakes problem
1998 Ford Escort Manual 250000 miles

I got 1998 Ford Escort LX and i just got back from droping off a friend at the airport and half way back my service engine light came on so when i get home i turn off the car, lights and all, and noticed that my brake lights were still on as if i was pushing on the brake. i dont know much about cars and i tryed to disconnect the battery and reconnect it and the lights just came on again, i disconnected the battery again and left it so i wouldnt drain the battery. dont wana take it in if i can fix it my self. what can i do?

by disconnecting the battery u cleared the computer memory
and u have to wait until check engine light come back on and have it scanned for code s
check gas cap make sure its on and tight



AS for the brake light u may need the brake light switch
check it its located at top of the brake paddle
