Transmission problem
1998 Ford Escort 4 cyl

My car starts fine. It will run as long as I'm driving but as soon as I stop my steering wheel freezes or something and then my car dies. I have coolant and oil I replaced the pcv valve, or watever its called. not sure wats wrong. help??

You will loose power assist to the steering if the RPM's get low enough. Has the check engine light come on? Have you checked for vacuum leaks? Fuel pump pressure?
