1997 Ford Escort water pump?

I have to put water in my radiator alot and when I put some in the overflow container tonight the water was boiling in the overflow? Does that mean the water pump is going out? It also sounds horrible when it is idling.

the water pump should be change with the timing belt
check thermostat and head gasket
