Heater problem
1997 Ford Escort 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

The previous owner of my car took all the switches out of the dash except the switch that changes the temp from low, medium, and high. I need to know what the other two switches are called. The ones that are missing are the one to change it from hot to cold and the one to change it from deforst, to dash, and floor. I'm trying to fix my car up so I can drive it and with it being winter I need to be able to change it to defrost and ensure that it's set to full heat and not air. But without those two knobs and switches I can't drive the car safely.

INTEGRATED CONTROL PANEL & DOOR ACTUATORS
Manual A/C-heater controls are included in the Integrated Control Panel (ICP), located near center of the instrument panel. A/C-heater controls include a function selector knob, temperature control knob and blower speed control knob. See Fig. 1 . Function selector knob actuates a vacuum selector valve that controls vacuum to door actuators. Door actuators control position of outside/recirculation, floor/panel and panel/defrost doors. Door positions determine airflow modes (panel, floor, defrost, etc.).
Temperature control knob controls a cable-operated blend door. Blend door position determines airflow around and/or through heater core.
