1997 Ford Escort Brake Lights Stick On

The brake pedal was squeeking. Now after I turn off the engine the brake lights are stuck on. If I press the brake pedal a few times they will turn off. Is their something simple I could do to fix this?

It sounds like either the switch is going bad or loose. It is located at the top of the brake pedal. Check it and let me know what you find or if you have other questions.
