1997 Ford Escort 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 157k miles
Atleast 2 weeks ago I ran out of gas, gas gauge is terrible on fords so everyone says! So I was driving on the highway after I had fueled up and the check engine light came on. I figured it was nothing big and lastnight when I was driving I accelelrated from a stop sign up to 40 when it went to go into 4th gear id say it felt like it grinded a little bit enough to notice in the pedal. Then the check engine light started to flash. I came to a red light the car was idleing so hard everything was shaking. When I went to accelerate from the red light it kind of sputtered along still vibrating. I parked the car and went to bed hoping it might just go away ahah? Went out today and started it up and its still idleing like it did lastnight and I have noooo idea what it could be. Im thinking it may have somthing to do with the running out of gas since the check engine light came on later that day?
