The check engine light is on in my escort and a mechanic said that the oxygen sensor might be broken. How can that be fixed? Is it something that I can do myself?

Ca n you give us the actual fault code. You have two O2 sensors, we need to make sure that you replace the right one. It is very simple procedure, takes about 10 minutes. No need to pay your mechanic an hour labor to replace.

Go to Autozone, Checkers, Kragen, whatever you have in your area. They can scan your computer and tell you what codes you have from the check engine light. We need to know those codes.
