1996 Ford Escort faulty heater

I have just bought a 1996 diesel escort, the heater does not work at all.
i have checked the fuse, and it is ok.
can you tell me if there is anything else it could possibly be other than the motor?

can you also tell me where the motor is located

i have the same problem with the rear windscreen wiper

Look up under the passenger side of the dash, unplug the blower, and use a voltmeter, turn the switch on and see if any voltage is present. If yes the motor, or blower motor resister is bad. If no power check for power at the resister, if no power either the switch, or fuse, or wires.

Step 1 - A heater cannot operate unless the engine is full of coolant/antifreeze. If coolant level is low check the system for leaks.
