hi my 96 escort is shaking really bad when i put it in drive and when i try to accelerate, it feels like its running off of 3 pistons or misfiring but when i have it in park or neutral and i rev it, it seems to not shake as bad.

Do you have check engine light on and or blinking
if blinking, is an indication of a misfire
check it for tune up as a 1st step
need to have it checked for codes
